The Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) seeks an exceptional candidate for a Health Communications Specialist position that will be filled by this announcement in the GS 1001 series at the GS-13 level. This position plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing the Division’s communication and marketing activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Health Communications Specialist, you will:
- Develop, implement, and manage national communication and marketing programs, including demonstration projects or initiatives for health care providers, public health professionals, the public and populations at risk.
- Develop and manage contracts, task orders, requests for proposals, review of proposals, and conduct and quality of work performed; follows an approval system for clearing and cross-clearing communication and marketing projects, research, and messages.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to internal and external groups about health communication and marketing programs, projects, and strategy development and implementation for consumers, health care providers and public health professional audiences.
- Develop messages and materials that are scientifically valid and consistent with program objectives; are based on communication and marketing theory and principles; are based on audience research (including concept, message, and Web- usability testing); and are targeted or tailored for diverse audiences.
- Conduct and manage health communication audience research and program evaluation activities for health communication and marketing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with the Clean Slate digital modernization effort, including collaborating with developers to transition assets into the Digital First Editor from the existing web content management system.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and managing national health communication and marketing campaigns, programs, projects, or strategies, and digital and social media platforms to address infectious diseases for various audiences including health care providers, public health partners and the public.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Additional Information:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
